Your paper should investigate a specific research topic related to the themes of the course. It may draw on course materials but must also extend beyond course readings. The paper should be in essay format and should formulate a research question with an identifiable central argument. Your research will include reading existing literature and collecting and analyzing your own original data (interviews, observations, statistics) and/or texts (legal documents, newspaper articles, novels, etc.).
Write a 1-2 page proposal for your final project. State which option for the final project you will complete (see options below) and discuss your topic, research plan, and sources. Provide some discussion of why your topic is relevant to the course and why you selected this topic. Please submit your project proposals online via Blackboard by the end of the day on March 29 via the “Assignments” tab.
