Self Care Across the Lifespan
Description of assignment:
Students will utilize a forum to share a self care practice.
Students will consider how the practice can be used during a life phase or population (childhood, adolescence, young, middle or late adulthood).
Students will share research on health impacts.
Students may try the practice themselves or read qualitative research on practice.
Essay will be 4-5 paragraphs and include at least 3 references.
Evaluation of assignment:
Students will be evaluated on timeliness of assignment, clarity of writing and ability to critically evaluate information.
For example, research shows practicing certain breathing techniques can relieve stress and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. Students would share how the practice might be taught and practiced to children or adults in later adulthood.
