Health Care Disparity Paper Grading Criteria
Choose one health care disparity that you would like to see changed. Using the nursing process the student will propose possible change for a specific health care disparity. The student will assess healthcare implications, diagnose a problem (a group or segment of our society who is medically underserved), plan a solution, identify how the solution will be implemented, and identify how the outcome will be evaluated. Paper will be in APA format and will require four scholarly references. All references used must be current (within seven (7) years). It should be 8-10 pages in length, not including your title page and references. This assignment is due in module 7 (see your course schedule). The student will submit a copy of the paper to UpSwing writing center for comments before final submission. A copy of UpSwing writing center paper with comments will be uploaded in the comments section of the grade book.
Use SWOSU UpSwing writing center for review of your paper. I suggest submitting a draft to them no later than 2 weeks prior to the assignment due date. The feedback must be uploaded in the comment section of the grade book.
Introduction, Assess healthcare implications, and diagnose (identify) a problem

Why is this disparity important?
What are the implications for individuals, the community, and the healthcare system if the disparity continues? Include both economic and health costs.

Should have Measurable goals – ex- a 10% reduction in condition X, versus “reduced rates of condition X”

In what population will you apply the plan?
When would you measure to see if the plan was effective?
What is your solution and why do you believe it would be effective? Cite sources to support your claims.
Note any perceived barriers to change.

Be concrete about where, with what population, and when you would present this information and implement the change
