Your task is to examine some moral issues in the medical care of young people.
You need to bring in at least one resource from the Useful Links or elsewhere, and discuss that in detail. You can choose an issue or case to discuss.
Topics include:
when parents insist on futile care for their children
when adolescents disagree with their parents on what medical treatment they should have
when parents refuse treatment for their children on religious grounds
deciding which disputed treatments for children are medically necessary — antidepressants, stimulants, puberty blockers
keeping children’s secrets from their parents
