After watching the videos of Joel and “Riekoi”, a Japanese, lesbian, female immigrant to the U.S., discuss your observations of what worked well in the session and what the counselor did that was less effective. What would you have done differently and why?
“Rieko”, the client in these videos is Japanese, identifies as a lesbian, what are two (2) stereotypes and/or generalizations of Korean individuals? What are two (2) stereotypes and/or generalizations of individuals who identify as LGBTQA+?
As a counselor, what are the potential barriers for this case scenario? And what should a counselor do to address those barriers?
