An annotated bibliography is a number of summaries of journal articles related by a specific topic; in the case of this assignment, a minimum of 10 empirical, behavior analytic, peer-reviewed studies investigating a behavior analytic topic (review studies and meta-analyses are unacceptable). The summaries are approximately 150-word descriptions, concisely detailing the study (purpose, participants, independent and dependent variables, procedures) and the results. The annotation is also evaluative (e.g., the summary must contain a critical analysis regarding the results and how they fit (or not) into the body of research being reviewed. The entire annotated bibliography MUST be written in APA format.
The format of this annotated bibliography will be as follows (see “Components of an Annotated Bibliography”):
1. Title Page (Title, Author, Affiliation) in APA format
2. Abstract: 150-word summary of the Annotated Bibliography
3. A one-page introduction, describing the behavior analytic topic under review, why it is important and the critical factors associated with the topic;
4. Ten descriptive and evaluative summaries of peer-reviewed studies of
approximately 150-words, written in APA format, each headed by its citation, again,
in APA format;
5. A one-page discussion (summary) that summarizes the reviewed studies,
identifies the advantages and limitations of the major research approaches and ends
with directions for future research.
6. Reference list, in APA format.
