Organizations are also linked to the external environment. Provide an example of an organization and describe the relationship (is it positive, negative? Why does it work or not work?), between that organization and the external environment. 5. For social work practitioners to be effective in the workplace they must have a good understanding of how their agencies operate internally and externally in the larger macro environment (Kirst-Ashman & Hull, 2018). Why is it important for social workers to comprehend organizational culture, and what personal skill (or skills) must one incorporate to help him or her see his or her role within a particular agency’s culture? 8. Why must a social worker understand the culture of an organization to begin the process of making changes? (Provide specific examples) 13. There are five steps towards whole community mobilization. Name them and then provide a brief description of each step. 14. Choose a macro community issue that you think needs to be changed. This can be an issue in any community. List the issue and then define the macro system, change agent system, and the target system. 15. Now that you have identified a macro community issue that needs to be changed, describe how one would initiate change by incorporating the IMAGINE change process. (Chapter 9).
