This is a Final Project for an Information Technology course in the MBA program. The assignment itself is a Case Study. You will be able to choose one out of four options below. Please choose one.

1) Financial
Statements and Fraud Detection and Prevention
“The CEO of your company providing auditing services to local Venture Capital firms is receiving more requests for their startup company financial statement analysis and fraud detection. In addition some of the investment companies are also approaching your company for assistance with financial fraud detection and prevention. Your CEO has tasked you with developing a beyond-the-state-of-the-art methodology and identify appropriate to assist in the analysis, identification of red flags and insights from various data sources to detect and prevent fraud in real-time.
Your report should suggest a strategy that provides a solution, implementation strategy and financial fraud detection and prevention reports to your customers.”
2) Account Management System
“Your company is in its growth phase looking to open offices in Canada and Europe. Your financial systems need to be improved to meet growth needs and manage budgets and forecasts. Timely and accurate information is the life-blood of the company and your CIO has tasked you to recommend a course of action to meet the demand. Your task is to propose a solution that is efficient, resilient and scalable while optimizing costs and benefits.”
3) Edge Computing Cloud and Federated AI
“In order to build any AI enabled solution, the availability of more data is usually better for creating a model with better accuracy, one that is more likely to capture more patterns. In order to create any model, the required training data may be available with different agencies. Unfortunately, obtaining the right training data for a specific problem in very difficult, and usually only part of the data required to address the problem may be available within a single agency. In order to create the integrated model, one would need to be able to combine and create the data that is available from various sources, and in many cases the relevant data may only be available from another agency.
An alternative is to create models independently at each of the agencies, and to move models between locations instead of moving data. The models can be moved by simply sharing their parameter values instead of trying to move the data between different sites. We refer to this latter approach as federated AI.
Identify a use case and develop a federated AI solution and discuss the benefits.”
4) Application of Big Data Analysis to Thwart Account Takeover
“Your bank is experiencing high growth and new account enrollment is rapidly increasing. While this is good for business, it is also a major opportunity for Account Takeover (ATO) attacks, which is a very lucrative business for cybercriminals, as compromised accounts contain financial or other valuable information and are more likely to be trusted since they belong to a legitimate user.
Your CIO has tasked you to come up with a solution to detect large scale ATOs either at the point of unsuccessful login attempt or after the account has been compromised, stopping ATOs before any damage is done. Some vendors are claiming that their solutions using unsupervised machine learning, found an additional 50% of ATO fraud on top of the platform’s existing in-house detection solution. Your job is to assess the current state of in-house solutions, and recommend improvements along with time, cost and impact estimates.”
PROJECT MECHANICS
The project is designed to walk you through the learning process of discovery, reflection, application and teaching. Here are some steps that help you through the process:
Choose your project from the four given. Share your reasons so that every one sees the logic behind and could provide feedback. I will certainly give feedback. The discussion forums are designed to at sharing the thought processes of all students in choosing their projects and any research. Participation in these discussions is a learning opportunity.
What is the problem? What is the current state of the art? Why is it a business problem; Are there examples that are similar? Is it a high risk problem that requires urgency? What are the costs and benefits of addressing the problem? What are the consequences if we don’t address the issue? Etc.
Create a hypothetical scenario in which you are an actor. Create a story of your participation in addressing the situation. Mimic real-life situations you have researched incorporating them in your story.
Identify requirements for the solution; possible solution options; supporting material.
Give your recommendation and present a compelling case for why your solution should be adopted.

GRADING CRITERIA
Project Title, Student’s name and a list of references used in preparing the paper;
The description of the scenery stating clearly the starting point of the project such as business current state and the problem at hand;
The crisis and the requirements to address the solution;
The solution options available that explore Information Technologies;
Recommendation with solution;
Supporting material in the Appendices; and
Identification of concepts learned that are relevant to the project
The project will be graded (150 points for the paper and 150 points for the presentation as stated in the syllabus) based on the following criteria:
Relevance to class material (50% of the grade)
Use of style guide, formatting and writing style (10% of the grade), relevant figures, tables and a table of contents;
Originality and innovation (10%)
Application of concepts learned (30%)
