Create a business trend report with graphs and all the trimmings that a Market Analysis would have for Nike Inc. on the subject of: Why Nike’s Five Year Roadmap for Global Impact Shows Promise in ESG Investing. I have created some of the report, (labeled Corrections needed for Nike Trend Outline draft.pdf) but needs extensive editing or possible rewrite. In junction, I need the trend report to be in the spirit on Nikes Impact report which I will provide and information I have.
Please see the deloitte- annual-report as an visiual for what the report should look like.
General Format:
– Single spaced with spacing between paragraphs; no indenting
– Headings and subheadings in longer sections to enhance readability
– No space between heading/subheading and paragraph beneath it
– Under header, begin with Statement of Purpose, then follow outline for sequence of key points to discuss and analyze in report
– After recommendations, include a CONCLUSION to sum up your report, bring reader back to points overall points you’ve discussed, or recap the benefits to adopt your trend
– Appendix for additional information not included in report but relevant to the reader
VISUAL ELEMENTS, IMAGES, AND CHARTS
– Include a visual on each page of your report; information about visuals is in YOUR WRITING, not from the site = Title and Source
– Consistency in format, style and font for both the title and source to show they’re integrated into your report style
– Add title at top of visual with caps on major words, number visuals consecutively in the report
– Source = Format = Source:
– Add URL/information underneath the visual
– Include company logo
– All visuals are explained /referred to in the body and are relevant to the topics you’re discussing
– You can italicize Figure # in text to make it stand out to the reader
– Images or visuals that are general such as a general pic of the company do not offer information or insight; instead, choose visuals that are relevant or add to the discussion
– All visuals are positioned on the page strategically or text-wrapped so they align beautifully and are easy to access
WRITING & ANALYSIS
– You are interpreting and analyzing in the writing in this report, not just providing information, listing key points, or summarizing research/findings
– Build an argument to why the readers want to adopt your recommendations so describe your background and set it in context (trend sections, company/industry sections), then analyze and interpret your research (analysis sections), and finally make recommendations based on all these findings (recommendations sections
– Go deeper into writing, not just regurgitate facts or information; explain what the research shows and why/how it relates to the trend and why you want the company to adopt; avoid repeating information you provided in earlier sections to avoid redundancy and keep the analysis section about interpreting the information
– Develop, explain, and support your ideas; when making statements or sentences/ideas include explanation and/or support to make your ideas/claim valid, reinforced, and specific to the topic being discussed
– For all ideas you present, include relevance: What is your point? Why is the point relevant? How does the idea connect to the paragraph’s main idea?
– Explain your thinking and interpret your research and findings for the readers so they understand your points and see the connection between the ideas you’re presenting in the report
– Include all key information needed for decision-making so the readers can make informed, intelligent, and clear decisions on whether to adopt or not
– Trend sections and company/industry sections are background for the analysis you’ll make so readers can see the trend in context
– Follow this format for recommendations, with each in a separate paragraph(s):
Intro paragraph to set stage for what you’ll recommend; then for each recommendation, explain:
State the recommendation—explain what and how?
Explain the relevance—why?
Add benefits to adopt
– End your report with a conclusion to sum up and emphasize the take-away you want the readers to know
GRAMMAR/MECHANICS
– Third person narrative only—no I, you, we, etc.
– Use positive emphasis and outcomes/advantages you want
– Company = singular, use it or its, not they or their
– Avoid unclear pronouns and the use of many pronouns in a paragraph; use nouns instead for clarity and preciseness
-Use descriptive wording and language; avoid all those weak words/structures to convey your meaning clearly and strengthen your argument
– Avoid recommending in the first sections of the report; build your argument in those sections, then state your recommendations in that final recommendation section only, using strong, descriptive language (like the resume); no use of SHOULD, MUST, NEED in any part of the report
