MEDIA PROJECT: You are to document and analyze representations of African/Black women in an online media ARTICLE. You are to address either an individual/group and/or an event. You can choose your article from print or online magazines or newspapers – local/national/global that spans 2019-present. Note: interviews and reviews (of film/tv/, etc.) are not appropriate sources for this analysis. You are to construct a cultural critique first by identifying the dominant narratives and then by discussing the importance of the particular framings of African/Black women in the mediated text. The assignment should be 4-4.5 pages (maximum) in length (excluding references). You are to submit the article with your paper – if you fail to do so you will receive a .5 deduction. The assignment should be written in the Times New Roman 12 point font and double- spaced. A written handout with additional information will be provided in class.
