Socio-economic opposition:

– natal strikes (1973 page 87)
– soweto (page 88-89)

Military opposition:
– founding of MK (page 79)
conclusion: failed campaign 1960-1964

In each theme, measure significance by looking at: IMPACT (did it change anything?), success (long or short term), breadth and depth of support (who got involved, what social groups), was it significant throughout the period 1948-1980? did government action limit significance?
