II. Prospectus of Comparative Research Paper (25 points)
Students are required to upload to Canvas an approximately (2) page prospectus
narrative along with an attached annotated bibliography,

The prospectus should address all of the following questions:
a. what is your research problem or question?
b. why is it significant for anthropology and/or other social sciences?
c. why is it significant for understanding the region, or at least the social groups
you selected?
d. what is your thesis statement? Or if you are not ready to provide a thesis
statement, how far along are you in your research?
In addition to the two (2) page prospectus narrative, you must attach to your prospectus a
working bibliography containing no fewer than four (4) academic sources (peer-
reviewed journal articles and/or academic press book chapters or monographs) you have
already read and determined to be relevant research so far. Below each entry in your
bibliography write a brief annotation explaining why this particular source is especially
relevant to your research.
Text and References Cited pages of both the prospectus and the final draft must appear
according to the current edition of the Chicago Manual of Style:
