Discussion 13: Writing, Submitting, and Revising Grant Proposals
Please follow the instructions below and ensure that each item is completely addressed to receive full credit consideration. Responses should be less than 150 words per question.
The agency you have created for your grant proposal will require that you are familiar with direct costs, indirect costs, and in-kind contributions please list and describe each. Further, create a direct costs budget for your agency and consider what you will need to purchase to make your proposal successful. Consider this a draft of your grant budget that will be submitted in a few weeks.
The program design/methods/strategies section of a grant proposal must include sound models. For purposes of assembling the grant proposal for your agency how will you make certain that its proposed program design, methods, and/or strategies are reliable and valid? Could your agency be 100% certain that its proposed program design, methods, and/or strategies are reliable and valid? Take this time to reflect on how you will construct this section of your upcoming grant submission. Also, remember that it is a common grant writing mistake for a reviewer to find discrepancies between the program design/methods/strategies section and the budget. Cross-referencing these sections is very important.
