What is the use? There may be multiple uses. How is it extracted? There may be multiple methods. What are the pros and cons of this? Are there any major environmental issues associated with extraction, etc.? Are there environmental issues with using the material? For instance, when we burn coal, it leads to air pollution and increases in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Is this a better resource to extract than Are there any technologies being developed to help with any of the issues? Is there environmental legislation that regulates the use and/or extraction? Be sure to include where the resource can be found (for some of these there are very specific places where they can be found, like diamonds, for instance) and how it comes to be. You may choose how you explore this. Do you want to write a short (500-1500 words) paper? Do you want to make a short video telling me about it (you can do this via a YouTube channel)? Do you want to make an interactive poster using Prezi or a PowerPoint presentation? Are you going to be a teacher? You may develop a lesson plan or short unit to investigate the topic (you will need to write the lesson plan, include any worksheets, notes you might give the students, etc. with your lessons. Do you have another idea about how you want to express what you have learned? Run it by me. You MUST turn in a list of references using APA guidelines. If you write a paper, you must have in-text citations. For a paper, please don’t just use a bunch of quotations. I want to see that you can read the sources and paraphrase.
