This week we will begin our coverage of the history of psychology. Please keep in mind the philosophical and theological discussions we have had already and how they may clarifiy the historical conversation. It is important to consider on your own the appropriate philosophical and theological constructs as the history of psychology text does not always bring those ideas into the historical discussions. This week we will read chapters 1 through 4 of the Wertheimer textbook.
Upon completion of this week, you will be able to:
Identify aspects of the anti-psychology approach to understanding the person.
Define and identify instances of epistemology, ontology, and metaphysics.
For this week’s group dialogue, please respond to the prompt stated below. A grading rubric for this assignment can be found in the “Grades and Progress” section of the main menu. Locate the assignment and click on “View Rubric.”
Review the website linked above and then answer the questions below. You may peruse several areas of the website to get a sense of the anti-psychology view being presented. Please number your post and responses to help others follow your thoughts. Our experiences and faith traditions may direct us differently as we discuss many topics in this course so please think carefully as you post and respond graciously to others.
