There is to be one historical essay assignment with a focus on primary sources, but a total of 4 components are required.
A topic choice is due by Sunday of Week 2 and worth 50 points. The topic is determined by the student, but must cover
material that is supported with primary sources in the text. Examples of appropriate topics can be found below.
An Outline and Working Thesis Statement are due by Sunday of Week 3 and worth 100 points
A Rough Draft that is at least 1000 words is due by Sunday of Week 5 and worth 100 points
A Final Draft is due by Sunday of Week 7 and worth 200 points
The body of the paper must be between 1500 and 2000 words, double spaced
At least 4 primary sources must be used from the required textbook
Formatted according to the Chicago Manual of Style Guide
This assignment is due in Week 7 by 11:59 pm Sunday to the appropriate Dropbox
