Watch the movie Moonlight it is about a young boy who was struggling through neglect from a drug addict mother, racism from people around him and being part of the LGBTQ+ community. While the movie progressed, it was clear to see how Chiron, the main character, was pushed into a stereotypical role of a black male. This was because after this boy was released from jail for assault, he had begun to sell drugs. I read an article a few days ago that explained that due to how much traumatization young black males would go through, it would force them to begin to do things like selling drugs. However, I noticed that the Feber readings have begun to explain how they believe that black males are being worshipped. The movie does not portray these actions. Is police reform the only way we can stop gender racialization, or does it have to be done another way?
