Choose a composer from the 20th Century, Romantic Era, or Classical Era. Identify two
compositions written by the selected composer that were not discussed in this course. The
paper should compare and contrast these two pieces with two pieces or songs from popular
music. Focus your analysis on elements of music covered in the first unit of this class (texture,
form, harmony, melody, rhythm, instrumentation, tempo, dynamics, and text). Include
biographical information on the composer or information about historical musical styles when appropriate.
