You
will be issued a client business scenario and you will then investigate and
advise the business on options of adopting of technologies for an e-business
model.
Introduction to the work/Scope/Context:
You
are required to write a consultancy style formal report 1800 word (± 10%) excluding reference list page and
appendices.
Business Scenario
A
medium sized fashion retailer, has been operating as a traditional bricks and
mortar model with numerous outlets on the high street. During the Covid-19
pandemic, the company was hit very hard and lost almost 50% market share to
competitors who were more agile online. It does not want to face the same fate
as other high street brands such as owned by the Arcadia Group and BHS.
The
Company has a website and email facility, plus a computerised stock control
system and computerised points of sale for payment in its stores. These systems
are currently stand-alone systems and do not ‘talk to each other’.
Your Specific
Instructions:
Write a report
exploring the issues, challenges and opportunities faced by this business; your
report must address the following:
1.
Analyse and evaluate digital technologies that
could be adopted to help the business survive and become more competitive in
the current economic environment
2.
Critical evaluation of new marketing techniques
like social media and search engine marketing to reach potential customers
3.
Analysis of managing inherent risks such as web
security threats/vulnerabilities
4.
Critically assess implications of Legal;
Social; Ethical; Environmental and Professional (LSEEP) compliance, requirements,
and issues
Write a conclusion summarising your key findings
and a reflective account evaluating your own work, what you learned about
yourself in the process, and what you would do differently next time; consider
and comment on your position as a computing professional when assessing the
issues of (LSEEP), and also highlighting any further research or work required.
