1,500 and five pages
including footnotes
Each student must submit a MANDATORY Ballot Proposition Analysis Paper. You MUST select a Ballot Proposition from those placed before the California voters between 1994 – November 2020 General Election.
IMPORTANT – SEE the Course Outline for specific details on MANDATORY FORMAT and CONTENT. REMEMBER, your Ballot Proposition MUST be in 12 Point type and be DOUBLE SPACED.
The Ballot Proposition TEXT MUST be 5 pages (or at least 1500 words) long AND CONTAIN a SEPARATE WORKS CITED page and contain appropriate FOOTNOTES or in text (e.g. MLA) documentation.
NOTE – Do NOT use Wikipedia, Ballotpedia or equivalent sources for your paper. Content taken from this/these sources will result in a 10 point reduction in your grade. Also refer to my comments on Wiki type sources in the Course Syllabus.
Your BEST SOURCES to begin and develop your research are;
www.calvoter.org – click the link for Ballot Propositions/Iniatives
www.sos.ca – click a similar link here
www.lao.ca.gov – click a similar link here League of Women Voters
Newspapers…search proposition for newspaper, etc. stories/editorials.
You MUST EITHER submit your Ballot Proposition Paper in a Microsoft Word .doc or PDF file or other Attachment (that I can open)….do not use GOOGLE DOC/s….OR..If you choose to, you may “paste” the Ballot Proposition Analysis in the “box” below. If you PASTE, you should create/write it and a Word Document, then “paste” it below.
NOTE – IF you choose the PASTE option, you will likely lose some of the FORMATING in your paper and YOU must manually re-format.
