Students will write a final research paper for their last assignment in this class, but first they will present a proposal and annotated bibliography to frame their research. This will help you to create an overview of all the materials you plan to cover in your paper and decide which sources are the most relevant.
Here are the topics you have to choose from:
1) The Readymade
2) Authorship
3) Found Footage
4) Détournement
5) Simulation
6) Feminist Critique
7) Remix
8) Archive Effect
Your proposal should summarize what your paper will set out to do and the research you plan to conduct. Proposals should be 2 double-spaced pages in length (approx. 500 words) and introduce…
1) a major research question
2) a working thesis for your project
3) a short breakdown (no more than 4-6 sentences approx. 150-words) for each of the included texts (archives, oral histories, etc.) and films/artworks you plan to address in your essay.
In your short breakdown for each item, you should answer the following in your own words:
1) What is the source about? and 2) What is the relevance of this source for your paper? Be specific.
You must follow the following MLA formatting instructions: bibliography.com (https://www.bibliography.com/mla/how-to-write-a-annotated-bibliography-in-mla-style/)
