Currently, our program model is
set up that we have three programs taking place; Head Start, Early Head Start
and Home based with a total of 95 children. We currently have once a month
Parent Workshops with a focus on parenting skills and once a month Mommy and Me
socialization event for our Home based children.
Aside from our classroom support
staff and Covid aides, we currently have 3 family workers that handle the
paperwork and unique needs of our stand alone center. This model has somewhat
worked, however, I am finding that many family, community, disabilities, and
partnership responsibilities are still not being met.
I would like to propose to take
my most qualified family worker (Sam) and promote her to a social and family
coordinator or something along those lines. Sam has been employed with my
program from day one and she was instrumental in assisting with everything from
set up until the many steps where we are up to today. With her new title and
promotion, she will be given specific set of responsibilities to tackle these items
and increase parent and community relationships. Her promotion would put her in
a position of more authority where she will be more qualified to assist me
properly with my tasks and cover for me properly if I am ever out.
A new model with this proposal will
increase work productivity and enable us to continue to expand and branch out
on our current achievements.
