In this weeks Lesson one of the nurses talked about was Linda Richards:
Linda Richards is known as America’s first trained nurse. After the death of her husband from wounds in the Civil War, Richards enrolled in a nurse training program at the New England Hospital for Women and Children and became its first graduate in 1873. Later in her career, she developed the first documentation system for patient records. She remained an active leader in nursing and nursing education throughout the remainder of her life.
