Part 1
Read and follow the hands-on instructions from Appendix A Brief Guide to Using Project 2016, found in Microsoft Project 2016 Tutorial and Videos Folder.
As you perform the steps, press the Prnt Scrn button on your computer to show the required screens, and then paste the results into a Word or other word processing software. Just load one file for this assignment into Blackboard, clearly labeling each part. Do all of Exercise 1 on Page 51 of Appendix A.
Tip: Be sure you know how to screencap your work to submit for credits. See this link for Macs or this link for Windows.
Note: For Exercise 1.d., instead of a generic project, use your class project to create the WBS. Make the WBS Level 2 categories initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing. Just break down the executing part in more detail. Include at least 3 WBS level 3 items under Executing with at least three items under each of them. Also, include at least 3 milestones under executing. Each item/letter is worth 20 points for Exercise. You must type everything for this assignment on your own (you can sit side by side and work on it), and your exam will include some basic info on Project.

Part 2
Complete Exercise 2 on Page 52 in Appendix A. Part a, b, c, and d are worth 60 points, and part e is worth 40 points (Submit Part e to the separate assignment link). For part e., include at least two outside references in writing your assessment/opinion of the software. Again use Prnt Scrn to show your screenshots and put everything in one file.

Part 3
For part e., you are expected to write a short paper on your assessment/opinion of the software. I explain the requirements in detail and provide a rubric to establish the expectation.
A one-to-two page paper, single space, well-formatted, in a Word file. The paper should have multiple paragraphs (a big paragraph paper is not acceptable). This paper will be in a separate Word file from the file including the four screenshots for parts a, b, c, and d.
The paper should deliver a core message and have a beginning and a conclusion/summary.
Describing the capabilities of Project Professional 2016 (briefly describe the capabilities and articulate why the capabilities are important or useful. No copy and paste from Internet sources, plagiarism is prohibited.)
Your opinion of this software (what you like and dislike about it; I suggest discussing from a user’s perspective – you are a general user and from a project team’s and organizational perspective; you can also discuss a competing product to illustrate your points)
Provide in-paper references (use a direct quote or paraphrase the sentences and cite the source) and provide a list of references at the end of the paper. The APA style 6 ed. or 7ed is required. The in-paper references and the reference list should be consistent.
Include at least two outside references (academic resources or published references with verifiable sources)
