Write a discussion paper on Culture Diversity in California.Topic: You can choose whatever topic you like, so long as it fits within the scope of California. I want the topic to be about cultural diversity, please.
The topic must be geographically focused within the state of California. If you want to address
something like changing green space, water usage issues, urban climate change, or whatever
interests you, go for it! If you have a paper for another class that has topical overlap, I’m totally
ok with you using the same or similar topic.
Do your best to keep the topic focused. Broad topics are generally less interesting and won’t
suffice for this level of a class. The proposal helps me identify if you need to narrow your focus
for the final paper.
Proposal: This is to get the process started and allows me to provide some feedback and/or
direction. Sometimes topics sound great but can prove to be problematic to write about due to
limited literature, research, and/or data. Please follow the following criteria for the proposal:
● 2 pages, double-spaced in total length (minimum)
● Use a minimum of 3 academic sources (Wikipedia, social media, and popular media
aren’t considered academic. If you’re unsure if a source is academic, ask me and I will
clarify)
● Write in APA formatting/citation (also, be consistent with your formatting)
● Address your topic of interest & state what you wish to discuss
● Outline any pertinent methodology you may be using
● Please use 12-point Arial font for the paper
