Use MS Excel to create a stress-strain plot suitable for use in your final written laboratory report. For this assignments, use the data collected during our tensile test of the 1141 specimen which has be provided to you in MS Excel spreadsheet format (saved in the files section of our Canvas page), to prepare the following:
A stress-strain plot (delivered in MS Excel format) for the 1141 steel specimen showing the following features:
yield strength using 0.2% offset line method (10-pts),
ultimate tensile strength (5-pts),
breaking strength (5-pts),
properly labeled axes in stress and percent strain (5-pts), and
calculations demonstrating the percent elongation and percent reduction in area (10-pts). The calculation may be done on the same spreadsheet.
Please remember:
to use your name when naming the file name, and
upload a PDF scan copy of your handwritten datasheet completed during the testing.
