Apply the health and safety concepts studied throughout this course to analysis and improve the conditions that influence the healthy development of young children.
Final Exam Project Assignment Options
You have 2 options for the final project. Make it meaningful and hopefully applicable to your current or future work with young children.
in either option your paper should be at least 1500 words.
Option 1
Interview a Director, Assistant Director or other staff in an administrative position, of a child care program regarding the health, safety, and nutrition policies for the school or program. If you are currently working in a child care program, it is fine to interview your director. Be sure to include the name of the person you interview.
Your paper should be formatted as an essay. It should not be a just a bulleted list of questions and answers. Include a summary of your thoughts on the program based on the information you gain from your interview.

Are these policies made available to families. How?
Are these policies made available to teachers? How?
How often are policies reviewed/revised
How are parents/staff informed of changes to policies
What are the specific illness policies?
Is your program operating during COVID-19? Why or Why not?
What modifications and/or changes have your implemented due to COVID 19?
What are the current goals or areas of growth for your program?
Create at least 2 other questions of your own to ask.

Look closely at advertising geared to children and find an ad that you feel negatively influences children in the area of health, nutrition or safety. For example, toys, food, play. Write a paper telling what commercial/advertisement you reviewed (include a copy of your ad and/or your source (website). Where did you find your ad? Why did you choose the commercial? Rewrite the advertisement to make it more appropriate. Include a video of your re-write. The video must show the original product. I will look for content and not cinematography skills. Video can be created on your smartphone, tablet or other device. Another source for creating videos is Adobespark.
