Your research should START with a recent annual report. You must read and cite information from one
of the last 2 annual reports of your company. Annual reports identify strategic initiatives and should
drive additional research on articles related to those initiatives.
7. Research your company in articles/periodicals via Joyner Library. There are videos in The Assignment-
Presentation module on how to do that remotely.
8. The research should drive your main point of view formulation. Look for arguments and evidence to
build your presentation around.
9. Slide and narrative focus are key as your time range is 7- 9 minutes in speaking time. Avoid data dumps.
Each slide and piece of information should support your MPOV. If not, it is not needed.
10. Remember you are doing a company presentation and not a brand presentation.
11. (Mandatory Slide) You must have a Major Point of View slide in your presentation. It must be early
(within first 2 slides after title slide) in your presentation. This slide should state your major point of
view, your supporting arguments, identify your top 2 competitors, and include the evidence to prove it
true. The evidence can be the following slide if space is needed. Your grade will be better if your MPOV
is focused/specific (answers how they lead) and not broad. Somewhere in the slide title should be the
letters MPOV (example: MPOV Slide).
12. (Mandatory Slides) You should have 3 argument slides. You must have a slide for each supporting
argument that supports your major point of view (big argument). Title each slide, Argument # (1, 2, or
3) and the Argument Name. The argument slide explains the argument and provides supporting
evidence. You may need more than 1 argument slide to adequately cover an argument. Make sure you
differentiate your company from the top 2 competitors with your argument and evidence. Make sure
you provide evidence to support each argument. The best way to end is argument is with an evidence
matrix. This is illustrated in the lecture a great way to summarize evidence for your company and its top
2 competitors.
13. (Mandatory Slide) – Include a bibliography slide on your sources as the last slide(s). Follow the page
title/citation example in the presentation folder. Remember to cite at least 1 annual report from the 2
most recent.
