We covered some of the basic material in the course. We are now moving to more specific topics. We will come back to a few more basic topics later but for now, I think you will enjoy this assignment. Please note that this assignment is worth 30 points which means there is a lot more to read and write a high-quality essay! Make sure to write your answer (in an essay form) well. That means stick to the facts, give details, and stay away from your personal interpretations and opinions.
Answer each question separately and not in one essay. Include the question first and then the answer to the question in an essay form.
Question 1 (10 points): In a few paragraphs (and in a short essay format – at least 2 paragraphs, preferably more than 2 paragraphs) explain the origin of ethical principles for research with humans. Refer to Neuman and Bhattacherjee’s chapters, videos and my PowerPoint file on Bb. As usual, your essay should be clear, concise, academic/formal writing and referenced to the readings.
Question 2 (20 points) Choose 1 out of the 4 classical experiments listed below. Similar to question 1 above, this will be an essay (at least 4 paragraphs. “At least” means 4 or more paragraphs. It is best to write more than less. Explain, and elaborate!). Your essay should be clear, and concise. Stick to the facts and stay away from your personal interpretations and explanations. Use the reading materials as your reference.
