Please watch the documentary,”Out in the Night” (2014) about criminalization of race, gender identity and sexuality– watch like a film critic and think about how they deliver their message, how effective they are, and what you would change about them. Also, I want you to watch this like a sociologist — identifying different stakeholders (actors), noting how they perceive the problems they face, thinking about what shapes their perceptions and ability to act on their problems. After watching the film, please address all of the following questions: If a friend asked you what this film was about, what would you say? Was there anything in the film that was surprising or made you pause and say, “I need to think more about that”? What is one thing you learned from the film that you wish everyone in your family or community knew? What do you think could change if everyone knew it? Make sure to do the following: an adequate length for your post (a minimum of 200 words) clear and concise writing include at least 2 in-text citations (to either assigned or extra material) Sources: • “Out in the Night” (2017) Documentary; 7 minutes, filmmaker: Blair Dorosh-Walther • Textbook Source- Social Problems (Chapter 4: Gender Inequality)
