To help students to get to know how technology is used and applied in the sport and recreation industry, each student is required to select a technology that is applied to the sport and recreation programs, services, events, and/or facilities and conduct a review report. Local examples and applications are preferred, though examples and applications from around the world are also accepted. A bonus of (maximum) 10 percent will be awarded to students who use Hong Kong
examples and applications in their reports. In addition, students are recommended visiting the selected programs, services, events, and/or facilities in the local setting as well as interviewing the responsible staff who are knowledgeable on applying the technology to the selected programs, services, events, and/or facilities (should the students choose to use examples from the local community). The report should include but not be limited to the following elements:
• Description of the selected technology and its uniqueness (a brief introduction):
• Students should be able to introduce and depict the unique element(s) of the selected technology
(e.g., use in the general or daily life situation).
Application of the technology to the selected sport and recreation programs, services, events, and/or
facilities (a detailed analysis):
Students should be able to analyze detailedly the unique element(s) of the selected technology that
is applied to the sport, esports, and/or recreation field (e.g., programs, services, events, and/or
facilities);
Sufficient and relevant details on explaining the process of applying the technology to the field
should be provided;
Relevant examples should be provided. International or local examples are all accepted;
nevertheless, a maximum 10 percent bonus will be awarded to students who use examples from
the local community.
