Write a compare OR contrast on Walker’s “1955” and Hurston’s story “The Gilded Six-Bits”. You must use a literary device. My suggestion: use theme or irony but students can choose any device that fits here. Remember to have a detailed, well-organized, coherent essay using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation, etc.
Intro – thesis with a literary device (use ONE only here)
Body – make sure to use specific details from the two stories for support in the body of your paper (exact words from the stories).
Method – students may write about both stories in each body paragraph or devote one paragraph to one story and then another paragraph on the other story; this style choice is up to each of you. My preference (for what it is worth) is that you do BOTH stories in each paragraph. It just makes for a smoother read I think.
