We have examined the major questions and concerns in lifespan development. For this discussion board, consider how much things change while in some ways staying the same. This board is worth 5 points.
Please address the following:
Provide one example of things that both change and stay the same in each domain (physical, cognitive, psychosocial). For example: Physical – continuity: we sleep throughout life; change: bedtimes change. Cognitive – continuity: from birth we can communicate; change: we cry then speak, our vocabularies grow with age. Psychosocial – continuity: most people interact with their parents/caregivers throughout their lives; change: the amount of control parents/caregivers exert over you decreases with age.
Share what your parents/caregivers, grandparents, and great-grandparents or elders would have been doing at your age. Are things the same or have they changed? Why do you think that is? What might this suggest about developmental expectations over time?
