With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, starting in March of 2020, we have seen Supply Chain Transportation stretched and pinched significantly. On March 23, 2021 the Evergreen / Ever Given container ship made worldwide news when it ran aground in the Suez Canal, enroute from Malaysia to the Netherlands. Although freed on March 29, the shipping blockage highlighted the potential risks for international shipping within Global Supply Chains.
Efficient and economic Global Transportation is essential to effective Global Supply Chains, and depends on sound definition, planning, and execution.
