Process the text: What response do you have to the PSA you’ve chosen? How do you respond to it? Is it persuasive? Does it elicit emotion for you? What specifically are you reacting to? Make some specific observations- what is the story of this PSA? Who is featured? What do the people look like? How would you describe them in terms of their demographics (age, gender, race, etc.) Analyze: Put these observations together in order to answer some questions. Who is the PSA for? Why? How do you know? What is important or valuable in the ad? What would be viewed as good or bad in the world of the ad? Synthesize: Put all of this together and make an argument about what type of rhetorical strategies you are seeing in the PSA. In Discussion Board, write about 250 words in a paragraph or two to make your analysis of the PSA you watched. Some questions to get you started: What do you think is the primary way this text connects to the audience (is it using logos, ethos or pathos?) Why do you think the writer made that decision?
