Choose a current event or an event that occurred in the last year. Such events can include the Jan.6th insurrection at the Capitol, an event in popular culture, the Covid-19 pandemic, etc.
Think about the causes and effects surrounding the event.
Choose 1-2 sources on the event to use in your essay.
Create an outline as shown in Chapter 18 pgs. 486-487.
Write a 5 paragraph cause-and-effect essay about the event. You should include a closed thesis statement as the last sentence in the introduction paragraph. (The thesis statement should be in bold).
Compose a works cited page that include the source(s) used in the essay.
You must include information from the sources in your essay as supporting information. Refer to the MLA resources module in Canvas.
