One 4-5 page essay, with regard to how it fits the “American Dream” narrative and how it relates to current events and/or America today. ~how do characters such as Jane, Sang, her grandfather, Ed, Devon, Nina, represent or define the American Dream? In what way(s)? ~is it possible to justify their actions or choices, both with regard to said American Dream and their own ideas about the future or what is best for anyone? ~what are the similarities or differences between Jane’s life in NY and her life in Seoul – is one “better” for her, in your opinion? Why of why not? Which one might more authentically represent her and what she wants out of life?
