Innovative Informatics Solution to a clinical problem for FNPs.
The field of health informatics is becoming one that requires innovative, outside-the-box thinking to identify and solve problems in FNP practice. This assignment is meant to explore your creative side in describing a current problem for FNPs in practice using informatics. I would like for each of you to cite a solution to the current problem (in any of area of informatics) you have identified this semester. The solution addresses a gap for FNP practice and/or the marketplace. For this assignment, you will be describing a health care problem for FNP practice and a solution you could potentially use in the future. Imagine that you are making this podium presentation at a national FNP conference on innovative ideas in health care for the FNP clinician.
Describe the problem (with supportive references).
Describe the problems implications for practice e.g., quality of care, efficiency, safety, work -life balance etc.
Describe a potential solution from the literature.
Prepare a PowerPoint presentation with a minimum of 15 slides.
Be creative!
Each slide needs 2 paragraphs of slide notes
Examples the instructor gave: EHR, interoperability, health information exchange and how these affect FNPs in practice and ways to solve them from the literature.
