After observing the youth sporting event, you should write a 3-4 page paper discussing your observations and reflections on sociological issues within youth sports. As you write the paper, you should follow the below format:
1. Introduction
a. Explain the event you observed. Provide details such as the age, gender, location, sport, etc. of the participants.
b. Provide an introduction and foundation for your observations and reflections. In short, you should provide a road map your paper will follow.
2. Observations
a. Discuss what you observed. Be as detailed as possible, giving specific examples and events. Be careful not to over generalizeif you wish to generalize, use specific examples to draw those generalizations.
3. Reflections
a. Discuss your reflections and thoughts about the event. How does what you observed relate back to sociological topics discussed in this course? Did your observations surprise you?
b. Choose at least one of the three theories discussed in Chapter 2 of your text. Then, explain your observations and reflections from that theoretical perspective.
4. Conclusion
a. Provide a brief explanation of what you will take away from this experience.
b. Summarize and conclude your paper.
