The paper will cover quantum computing and how it is best suited for solving problems we are currently facing with in these areas: cryptography, supply chain logistics, chemistry, machine learning, and optimization. In addition, discuss the status of quantum computing and each of the core areas mentioned above. Then, lead into current limitations we face today and how each of these areas’ challenges can be solved with quantum computing. Finally, the paper should conclude by summarizing the potential of quantum computing and discussing possible issues we may see once quantum computing arrives such as countries racing for quantum computing supremacy and the need to create quantum-safe cryptography protocols.
