The author states: I propose that all discussions of the afterlife tell us more about our values and beliefs in this life. How a people, religion, or culture discusses a world beyond this one is completely reflective of that societys views of fellow humans, good and evil, punishment and reward, and even our belief in the powers or limits of God.
