Module 6: Selected Theory Final Academic Paper The Purpose of this assignment is to write a final academic paper to encapsulate what has been learned throughout the course. Content Introduce the theory and describe the theoretical framework of the theory/model Describe the attributes of the theory (use examples of how you see the theory working within your proposed study) Define nursing’s four metaparadigm concepts and how the theory/model relates to each Describe the significance of the theory/model to the advancement of nursing practice, nursing research, and nursing education Present a summary; an example would be to summarize the five main points about the model. Ensure the articles are peer-reviewed, and within the last 5 years from today. When selecting a theorist/theory I would suggest you think in terms of this course being the start of your Thesis. Think about what you would like to conduct research on and what theory would work well with your topic. Your next course or companion course is Advanced Nursing Research. This is where you will solidify what the thesis idea. Having a head start on the theoretical basis for your study is important. While a nursing theory is not required for the thesis, as a nurse it is always best to use nursing theories to support your research. If you do use a nursing theory, the work completed in this course will be useful moving forward. This content could be added to your thesis in the theoretical framework section. Format Academic paper following APA 7th edition text. Title page, body of work, and reference page. Page numbers on all pages, Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt., Margins 1″ all sides, Headings which note each subtopic of the paper. Locate the academic paper template to assist with formatting. Just download the file, save to your computer, and write directly into it. There is no particular word count but pages should be between 8 and 12 (not including title page and reference page). The requirement is to cover the topic. As to the number of references, at least three peer-reviewed journal references other than the text books would be necessary. Wikipedia is not an acceptable reference. Online dictionaries are not acceptable. And websites are not acceptable unless there is a direct website for the theory you use.
