This piece is meant to function as a piece of proofread but not terribly formal prose, which will demonstrate to me a little bit about who you are and possibly more about how you write.
The Grounded Issue essay
We all have things we believe, things we care aboutbut why? How can we explain the importance of something we feel strongly about in a way that brings the concept to someone else, who may not share it, or even know it exists?
This doesnt have to be a political or global subject: we can be concerned with something in our neighborhood, a rule at work that needs to be examined or changed, or any personal ethos. We might really believe people should stop wearing certain fashions, or that at some point in our lives, we should all experience living in another state or country.
Explain, in your own voice and words, the concerns of this issue. What would be pertinent evidence to tell someone about why they should care, too? Provide an anecdote, an example, that can make this real and relevant to your audience. Maybe we dont want to necessarily change the audiences minds, but how do we help them understand why its important to think outside what they already do or do not know? The Grounded Issue essay

Whichever approach or topic you choose, this essay could successfully take any number of forms. It may be a personal narrative, it may be a sort of reflective memoir, it could be a straight-ahead description or explanation that leaves you totally out of it.
