Desсrіption of the assessment In determining any strategic intention, an organisation must have a clear understanding of the market within which its products/services need to compete, so a full market analysis will need to be undertaken, coupled with complete awareness of resource availability. This will allow managers to identify the organisations capabilities, which in turn will act as the driver for implementing operational strategy. The recognition and management of both internal capabilities and external relationships with the market will consequently move the organisation towards designing effective operations and achieving expected performance. It is therefore necessary to understand how to manage the organisations impact on, and interplay with national and the global marketplace. This assessment will achieve following learning outcomes: Learning Outcomes 1. Critically analyse the importance of effective sustainable business operations and the conditions necessary for effective and efficient work 2. Critically evaluate organisational strategy and how this is developed in light of market and resource position 3. Critically evaluate how customer value can be maximised through marketing activities to produce sustainable, strategic, competitive advantage 4. Reflect on current trends and critical issues that are pertinent to the successful strategic alignment of sustainable value to markets and organisations Assessment Content For a ‘new to market’ product/service of your choice, you are required to write an Individual Management Report which discusses and identifies Marketing Aspects. Your report will cover the following criteria: a) Develop your product/service idea and compile the main components of a well-researched marketing strategy that could be used for sustained success of the product (50% of marks) b) Give a critical assessment of how the complexities of the external environment and economic conditions will impact on Marketing and Operational Planning for the product.
