Part 1: Parent/Teacher Collaborations. This field experience looks how teachers welcome and involve families in the classroom. What is the teacher’s assessment process and how does he/she involve the parents/families. Describe the mission statement and values of the teacher/center toward families (written or verbal). Describe the ways that the teacher implements the mission statement and values in the classroom. Describe the types/requirements of parent involvement in the classroom. How does the teacher welcome family traditions and routines (like greetings, lunch, feeding practices) Part 2: Parent/Teacher/Community Communication. How does the teacher communicate with parents? (letters, emails, newsletter, boards) What is included in the communications? How is the community involved in the classroom (supports families receive, the school receives, fieldtrips, donations…)
