This is another case study that I could use some help with. It is fewer pages than the others. I think this client would do well with cognitive behavioral therapy. I attached a document that I read through that has a lot of great information. I do not have to have any sources, but if using any, one or two should be sufficient. Thank you for working on this!
As you read through the case study, write your thoughts on (1) how you think counseling might help this person, (2) how you might understand the client’s situation, and (3) how do you think you would personally respond to the client’s identity and personal concerns.
CASE STUDY
Abir is a 30-year-old single male who practices Islam and recently immigrated to the United States from a Middle Eastern nation. He has always dreamed of living in the U. S. because of the stories he heard of opportunities. He has been in the United States for two months and started work at his new job a month ago. He would like to continue practicing his faith but has had difficulty connecting with other Muslims in the community. He would also like to connect with his co-workers and his neighbors but is unsure how they may feel about his faith and his Middle Eastern identity. Even though he has had more opportunities since being in the U. S., he questions whether immigrating was the right decision.
