The context: since the pandemic is far from over and that most geographical regions and thematic areas continue to face existing pandemic-related trends, this article aims to focus on the impacts of covid-19 on the increase of violent events and extremist groups’ activities in this region. For instance, what are the different ways that the pandemic could impact the terrorism landscape in the short, medium and long term in Asia. These could range from terrorists leveraging an increased susceptibility to radicalization and inciting a rise in anti-government attitudes, to engaging in pro-social activities and even reconsidering the utility of bioterrorism.
