When developing an EBP project, it is important to examine the health-care system in which it will be implemented. What resources will be available, for example, and is the health-care system prepared to launch a new EBP project? Examining needs at the policy and program aids in identifying those that will assist the patients that the healthcare system supports. EBP can address issues recognized by the local health-care system, relying on current clinician experience and taking into consideration the values and preferences of patients (Bardsley, Eich, Esche, Kropkowski, McLaughlin, Risch, & Warren, 2016). Some health care institutions do not have librarians on staff to assist RNs with EBP research, therefore this is a big consideration.
