Research and write about Aesthetic film history methodology proposed by Allen and Gomery (Film History: Theory and Practice). Use this methodology to analyze the film “The Cheat” by Cecil B. DeMille (as demonstrated in Fabe’s book, Closely Watched Films). Use 5 readings in the research. Two books and 3 peer reviewed articles. I proposed the books “The “I” of the Camera: Essays in Film Criticism, History and Aesthetics” by William Rothman and “Between Stillness and Motion: Film, Photography, Algorithms” by Eivind Rossaak. The three peer reviewed articles are “The Return of the Epic Film: Genre, Aesthetics and History in the 21st Century Ed. Andrew B. R. Elliot. Edinburgh UP, 2015.” by Antonia Sanna, “Anyone for an Aesthetic of Film History?” by Eric de Kuyper and “3D in Depth: Coraline, Hugo, and a Sustainable Aesthetic” by Scott Higgins, but you can change them if you’d like. Anything to make the essay better.
