West side of Long Beach, near Cabrillo High School, has had a noticeable increase in vehicle thefts over the past year. Many of these thefts occurred on campus in the student parking section and areas immediately adjacent to the campus. Teachers and community residents have complained to district and local officials. Parents have also complained to local officials about the need for increased security. Police calls for service in this area have also increased 25% from the previous year. Objective: To reduce the amount of vehicle thefts in and around Cabrillo High School by 85% by 2024. Please include in your strategic planning investigative activities such as: informant management; undercover operations; increased patrol; interviews and interrogations; search warrants; and arrest teams.
